Kintoki Sushi

金時寿し

One group of 4 adults and a child reportedly left full after ordering the egg sushi, while a creative sushi combination of kazunoko and myōga ginger has also caught diners’ attention. Unagi nigiri and the daily recommendations are among the other tempting options at Kintoki Sushi.

01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

At Kintoki Sushi, one diner said that the sushi made with 10 eggs was enough to leave 4 adults and a child feeling full. The generous size of some toppings stands out, and another visitor was impressed by the substantial portions of tamagoyaki and other toppings. The rice, however, has been described as small, which may suit diners keen to savour the toppings and sample a few different items.

For something less familiar, try the creative sushi combining kazunoko (herring roe) and myōga ginger, coated on the outside with katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes). Other diners particularly enjoyed the creative saury sushi and the unagi nigiri, which also appears among the menu options. The selection includes classic nigiri as well as egg and sea urchin nigiri, negitoro (tuna and spring onion), unakyu (eel and cucumber) and shiitake sushi, leaving plenty to choose from according to your tastes and appetite.

Asking the staff about the day’s recommendations is another way to shape a meal here. One diner began with a generous portion of cutlassfish sashimi, then moved on to amberjack, squid, red and white prawns, whelk and sea urchin nigiri. Rather than sticking to nigiri alone, you could add sashimi or small plates and enjoy them with beer or another drink.

The restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday from 17 to 21 and is closed on Mondays. Reservations are available, as is takeaway. Payment is cash only, so it is worth being prepared before you go.
